Record number of exhibitors and attendees at COMPUTEX 2023, Asia’s epicenter of tech innovation

Today marks a significant event in the tech world as COMPUTEX 2023 commences at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. More than 1,000 manufacturers from 26 diverse countries/regions are assembling across 3,000 booths, making it one of the most anticipated tech events this year. Underscoring its importance, hundreds of journalists worldwide have gathered to cover the event, making it one of the most reported technological gatherings.

The event’s organizers, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), further elevated the excitement with a global press conference earlier today – the first in-person global press briefing since the pandemic began.

In his remarks, TAITRA’s Chairman, James Huang, underscored how computing drives the surge in artificial intelligence applications. He spoke about how the influence of AI is increasingly changing human life. This sentiment is echoed in the theme of COMPUTEX 2023, “Together we create,” aiming to foster collaborative futuristic technology solutions. The event is positioned as a key destination for industry decision-makers and innovative startups across the globe.

Meanwhile, Paul Peng, Chairman of the Taipei Computer Association, affirmed Taiwan’s vital role as a critical hub in the global development of semiconductors. He pointed out the strengths of Taiwan’s ICT industry, including its superior engineering technology, impressive mass production capabilities, and timely delivery in meeting global demand.

COMPUTEX 2023 offers a diverse palette of discussions and activities, with focus areas including high-performance computing, the application of artificial intelligence, next-gen connectivity, hyperreality, the role of innovation and startups, and the importance of sustainability. It’s an enriching platform for international connections and showcases the future development of the global technology ecosystem.

In line with global sustainability efforts, COMPUTEX 2023 has introduced the green initiative COMPUTEX ESG GO! This initiative flags participating companies with international sustainability certifications, symbolizing their commitment to the green supply chain.

TAITRA, in collaboration with Acer, is launching the Earth Mission APP, a sustainable lifestyle tool designed to foster energy-saving and carbon-reducing habits among the participants. Reflecting a commitment to the environment, the non-profit organization One Tree Planted will plant trees in the Amazon rainforest based on the number of app downloads during the exhibition.

As a testament to Taiwan’s industrial strength, COMPUTEX 2023 is a unique networking platform for international manufacturers, global technology frontrunners, innovative startups, and professional buyers, promising a rendezvous of unlimited technological possibilities.

The Manila Bulletin Technews team is on the ground to provide the latest updates. They will pay particular attention to Acer’s latest offerings, delivering timely reports on the company’s showcased products and solutions.

In his message, Manuel Wong, Managing Director, Acer Philippines, said: “COMPUTEX has everything for those who love technology and are interested in it. You get to see the latest innovations from Acer and Predator. You can look at Acerpure’s new products and take part in eco-friendly workshops which will give you tips and ideas on how to live more sustainably and make your green mark on the planet,”
